This is the end of the first week! I’ve decided to make the end of week posts on Sundays from hereon out. If you’re wondering why, refer back to my New Years post to get more context.
Considering there was only three days for this week in the new year, there wasn’t much that happened. Though I suppose considering how things are currently with the world anyway, there wouldn’t be much opportunity to do anything “exciting,” would there?
Still, I think it was a good week. I really started to put in the actual effort to make a change in my habits and it feels great! Using the Habitica app has always helped simply due to the fact it has a great to-do list. Furthermore, using the app with other friends to keep each other accountable helps encourage me to continue using the app and develop good habits. So far, I haven’t missed any of my dailies (to-do list meant to be accomplished every day) and I’ve managed to maintain my actual to-do list fairly well. The only thing I am struggling with is getting a proper sleeping schedule. I’m hoping this will help me get back on track.
I’m still unsure of how I want to do these weekly posts along with how I’m going to take the pictures as well.
When it comes to writing the posts, I’ve been writing a small journal piece every day to help me remember what I’ve done throughout the week. However, if most of what I’ve done is rather banal in nature, then what really would be the point of regurgitating what I’ve already written down? It certainly would not be an interesting blog post to read.
Then with the picture aspect of this 52 week challenge… I’ve been contemplating if the pictures should accurately depict the week or highlight something I found interesting. When I did the 365 day challenge, it was meant for me to familiarize myself with a DSLR and to look for interesting things to take pictures of. Now that I have accomplished the first part of that challenge, this year should focus on something within the pictures itself. For the time being, at least, I’ll just try to take pictures of something I found interesting and/or something that felt like a highlight of my week. If possible, however, I’d like to use this challenge as a way to encourage myself to travel to different parts of where I live and explore a little bit.
I think, for the time being, it will just have to continue to evolve as I contemplate a bit further as to how I want to shape these weekly posts. At the very least, allow me to just voice out some things that stood out to me this week.
Waking up knowing a guy that my sister is kinda seeing (not entirely too sure what their relationship is right now) had spent the night for new years day was not too pleasant of an idea. I can tolerate it for now at least.
Trying to get into the flow of my new routine is going alright, but one of the things I was worrying about is how I would integrate it within my normal schedule (as in a week where I don’t have any days off from work). I think one of the biggest obstacles I will face for this year is time management. I’ve never been good at it and if I wish to continue what I’ve been working on, I will have to do something about my terrible inability to manage time. At least this time, I’ll have some ideas on how to tackle it and friends to help me figure things out.
Those were all the significant events that happened and thoughts I felt were worth sharing. Perhaps when I have a better idea on how to write these posts, I’ll be able to write posts of better quality. Until then, I hope you are able to tolerate the horrid writing! Thank you for reading and here are some pictures I took this week!
The first two pictures are of posters and photo prints I have pasted up on my bedroom walls. The posters were recently put up whereas the toy photography prints were pasted onto the wall as soon as I moved into the apartment. It’s pretty funny how I waited half a year to finally put up the posters I had laying around. Took a long time but it’s always worth it! Though unfortunately some of them keep falling off the wall. I may need to purchase stronger tape…
The next three images are from the storage building I have many of my extra items in. It’s kind of cool walking around there as it can feel similar to that of a maze found in video games. When it’s dark and the lights have not turned on yet, it feels reminiscent of your typical horror game. What’s even cooler, however, is when you get to the hall where my storage unit is located at, you get a really cool view from the second floor of the building! It’s always like I’ve reached a safe haven when I get to my unit.
Then the last image is of my dog, Q, chewing on a toy. He just looked so goofy trying to bite his toy like that so I took a picture of it. I love cute things.
Anyway, Happy New Years again, everyone! With that, I would like to share a screenshot from my favorite movie series, Kara no Kyoukai. It shares a lot of the sentiment I often carry when it comes to how I like to approach every new year. My prayers for all my loved ones: May your world be filled with happiness.
